TreatCost.com is a marketplace designed to aggregate pricing data for LASIK and other surgical procedures. Comparable businesses include GoodRx, Yelp, Google Maps, and lasikscore.com.

Patient Need

Patients currently receive efficacy and pricing data from reaching out to individual providers, but there isn't a great place to view this data in aggregate to select a particular provider. Google Maps is a great service which shows many thousands of reviews, but it doesn't contain precise pricing information. Even if it did contain that information, the reviews aren't organized such that a patient can quickly evaluate the efficacy of a particular surgical center in the event of a surgical failure because such events are very infrequent, with less than 5% of patients being dissatisfied with LASIK and 2% or less having serious side effects.

Provider Need

Providers want more patients and derive revenue from procedures.

Revenue

Over 700,000 LASIK procedures are performed each year and each procedure might average 4,000 dollars in revenue. TreatCost is targeting 200 dollars per patient who receives surgery, which means we'd need 5,000 patients per year or less than 1% market share to crack 1 million per year in revenue. In reality we can't be paid on a per-patient basis and would need to be paid on a per-click advertising basis. We need to calibrate our per-click cost to achieve that revenue target. As of March 2026 we are not being paid anything by providers directly and rely upon AdSense for revenue.

Expenses

Just like with GoodRx, the primary expense is marketing.

Team

Gregory Ledray founded TreatCost after working at IntelligentRx, which was a micro-competitor of GoodRx. GoodRx aggregates prescription savings discounts for patients, and the primary goal for TreatCost is to aggregate savings discounts for LASIK and similar procedures.
